Inspired by the Magic of Consciousness

 Denise Psychic Artist

As an Artist, my philosophy is not new. I follow a long line of eccentrics such as Blake, Kandinsky, Marrinetti and Hockney who were noted mostly for their other worldly practices, displaying spiritual knowledge more widely accepted in Victorian parlours than in the Art world. In my paintings I use colour frequencies to agitate or bring harmony to the eye. My intention is to involve the observer by using chakra healing colours to promote a sense of well being in the mind and enhance the health of the body through spiritual interaction.

I use maths and colour vibration equations to toy with the delicate balance between Chaos and Order and emulate the struggle between Religion and Science. I am in pursuit of  blissful existence the ‘state of grace’ between the Physical and the spiritual. I am developing a way to forge connections in chaos, without imposing order.

My paintings are underpinned by my belief that everything exists in a single moment of clarity, where God and Science are two sides of the same coin. Through this imagery I am furthering my love of quantum dynamics and strong  spiritual beliefs, I hope to develop my work further so that I can search for and find a way to portray my excitement for all things bright and beautiful.

Then there is  PSYCHIC ART

This is my friend Frank, when I first started out in spiritualism around the time of my 39th birthday 2005. I had occasion to offer to do Frank a painting, he had done some beautiful photographs of my vow renewal service after 10years of marriage. I had been told I could do psychic art but had only a few coincidences under my belt at the time.

I struggled with the painting and tried several times to paint, a field of bluebells and trees with bluebells. The paintings were awful and I’m not An awful painter. I gave up fighting the canvass and let the image develop. It seemed a bleak smattering of stems with a few anaemic bluebell flower heads very poorly painted with little detail.

The next time I saw Frank I told him how bad I felt about failing so miserably and described the painting to him. He was very excited and insisted on seeing it.

I showed him, then he showed me a little picture he had in his wallet. It was his late wife Angie’s favourite photographer and her favourite print. I was blown away by the similarities and he never stopped talking about it.

This year, winter 2009 Frank brought the full size original photograph and my framed painting to an evening of psychic art I was doing at the I.P.S.C Laird st Birkenhead. That was the first time I saw the original and I can see why frank never stopped talking about it. The similarities are mind blowing for me and I  did not fully understand what took place.
